Video Diary » Bill and Peter Frampton instrumental
Sunday 15th June 2008
Bill worked with the legendary Peter Frampton in a new instrumental track back in 2005 - and the result was captured on video.

Bill explains:

"In late 2004 Peter called me and we talked a number of times about his idea of an instrumental album he wanted to make. He wanted me to put together a rhythm section to record two tracks with him, and I tried to find some ideas for tracks for him to record.

"On February 14, 2005 we went into Eden Studios, Chiswick, London, together with Charlie Watts (drums) and Chris Stainton (keyboards), and cut two tracks. We did a cover version on Amos Garrett's Bert's Boogie, and then invented an instrumental track between us, which we called Cornerstones."

Photographer Denis O’Regan took photos and video of the session, which you can see exclusively here.

Peter’s album Fingerprints was released on September 12, 2006, and got great reviews.

Peter Frampton said (in Billboard Magazine USA 21.4.06): "Another tune was recorded with Rolling Stones principals Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts with keyboardist Chris Stainton. Bill has been my mentor since I was 14. This song is the Stones' original [Rhythm] section, Stainton and me. It doesn't get much better."

Bill adds:

On February 13, 2007 I heard that Peter Frampton had won a Grammy for ‘The Best Instrumental Album’ of last year.
