News » Bill gives a lesson in Blues
Wednesday 31st October 2007
A two-hour talk on Blues proved a hit with local secondary school children in the Scottish Borders in October, as Bill Wyman shared his love of music as part of an exhibition of his photographs. The exhibition, which ran throughout October at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles, saw Bill also interviewed by Radio Scotland's Colin Somerville at the Eastgate Theatre.

But it was his talk on the history of Blues that sparked the interest of visiting schoolchildren.

"I knew nothing about the Blues or the Rolling Stones before today, but I thought the talk was very interesting," Katrina Small, 15, from Pebbles High in a BBC report. "I'll definitely be buying some though, I thought it sounded brilliant."

Student Jim Ellis, aged 14, told the BBC: "I'd heard of the Rolling Stones, but never bothered about them or Blues music. I might hunt some of it down, the music sounded amazing.
