Monday 9th August 2010
With Bill planning a trip to Gedding as summer gets underway, he started the day working on business projects, before heading off and arriving at Gedding in the afternoon. A quick snack and – as the day was so warm – Bill went for a walk in the grounds armed with his camera to shoot any images of nature.
Bill says there were no butterflies around, so he walked across the paddock to his son Stephen’s cottage, managing a few photographs of Meadow Brown butterflies en route. Continuing his trek, Bill wandered into St Mary’s church grounds and through the cemetery, taking a few photos as he walked, before heading back to the house.
Friday, and Bill gave most of the day over to World Cup 2010 football, including the match between Holland and Brazil that Holland remarkably won 2-1, then a nail-biter between Uruguay and Ghana that went to penalties. Suzanne and the family then arrived, and Bill spent the evening with everyone talking and enjoying the summer evening.
Saturday morning saw Bill working on business stuff, before heading out to lunch in Rattlesden for a pub lunch, which Bill says was really good. Back home in the afternoon, and the World Cup was in full swing with Bill watching the Germany Argentina game, in which Germany destroyed the South American side, before watching the far duller Paraguay versus Spain game, which went to Spain. Sunday, and the day was given over to the family, with a great day for everyone.
