Saturday 17th July 2010
Finally, for Bill, the chance of catching up on some sporting action, with Bill relaxing in London following the opening of the Stone Alone In Saint Paul photo exhibition and recent Rhythm Kings Spanish tour. Bill watched the opening match of the 2010 World Cup, before calling up his restaurant Sticky Fingers to order some takeaway food. With the food arrived, Bill also watched the 2010 World Cup match between Uruguay and France, although Bill didn't think it was much of a game.

Saturday, and a large photo of Bill and other celebrities appeared in the Times Magazine under the headline Q: Where Can You Meet A Socialite, A Film Star And A Rock Legend? A: At The Library (Yes, Really). The article also included a quote from Bill saying: "I'm working on a book about my house, which dates from 1480. When I asked to see what they had on Suffolk, there was just a mass of useful material." (Photo shown).

After a morning given over to emails, Bill tuned into the live World Cup 2010 match between South Korea and Greece, before sorting out his stage clothes in preparation for the evening's gig. Bill also had time to squeeze in watching the match between Argentina and Nigeria, although Bill reckoned it had a dull finish. With the match over, Bill packed his clothes for the night, then left for the Sheraton Hotel near Heathrow Airport to pick up Georgie Fame, who had earlier flown in from Sweden. Then, all travelled to Blenheim Palace, arriving just before 8pm and joining the rest of the Rhythm Kings in the Indigo Room, and the chance to watch England versus the USA, despite its disappointing 1-1 result.
Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings took to the stage at 11:30pm, with the line-up of Bill Wyman (bass/vocals), Graham Broad (drums), Beverley Skeete (vocals), Georgie Fame (organ/vocals), Terry Taylor (guitar/vocals), Geraint Watkins (keyboasrds/vocals), Frank Mead and Nick Payn (horns/vocals). With the late start, the set was I Got A Woman (Georgie), Sweet Soul Music (Beverley), Chicken Shack Boogie (Geraint), Too Late (Terry), All Night Long (Bill), Melody (Georgie/Beverley), Just Your Fool (Frank), Jump Jive And Wail (Georgie).
Then there was a short break for raffle prizes before the Rhythm Kings continued with Hit The Road Jack (Georgie), I'll Be Satisfied (Beverley), Three Cool Cats (Georgie), Johnny B Goode (Geraint), I Just Wanna Make Love To You (Beverley), Just For A Thrill (Georgie), You Never Can Tell (Bill) and Honky Tonk Women (Bill).

With the set done, Bill and Georgie headed back to Heathrow to drop Georgie off to fly back to Sweden, before Bill finally arrived back home at 3am.
With the late night charity concert last night, Bill got up for an easier morning of reading the papers and sorting out paperwork and his diary. Bill then clocked up several World Cup 2010 football matches, including Algeria versus Solvenia, Serbia versus Ghana, and Germany versus Australia.
