Friday 29th January 2010
A busy day on the first leg of Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings January 2010 tour, with Bill meeting up with Peter de Raaf and heading to the VIP Gallery. Once there, Bill did a long TV interview with Annemarie Van De Weert for Dutch TV Ch.1 – ‘Een Vandaag’ (One Today Show), discussing his hobbies and his photo exhibition. Bill also did a short radio interview, and was also filmed by a TV crew on his way back to the hotel. Bill, aptly as he was talking about the photo exhibition, also paused to capture some photos of some frozen Amsterdam canals.

Lunch saw Bill meet up with Tony, Georgie and Frank over decent oysters and soup, before travelling to the venue for a lengthy sound check, and running through the songs with Mick Hucknell, as well as few Rhythm Kings songs. Later, back at the hotel, Bill and the band, as well as Mick had dinner, before Bill went back to his room to get changed for the evening’s gig. Once ready, Bill hopped into a cab and went to the Paradiso to relax backstage, before Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings took to the stage to a fantastic, near sell-out audience at 8:30pm.

The crowd went wild – applause ringing through the charged air and demands for an encore rising from the crowd. Bill and the group were happy to oblige, with encores of I Put A Spell On You (Beverley), Turn On Your Lovelight (Mick Hucknell), and Tear It Up (Albert) unleashed to satisfy the crowd, who lapped it up.

With the evening over, Bill headed backstage to sign items for fans and have photos taken, before heading back to the hotel.
