Saturday 9th January 2010
With the Rhythm Kings 2009 UK tour concluded, playing to some great audiences and with glowing Rhythm Kings concert reviews, Bill planned several quiet days in London. On Monday, December 7, Bill was up early to catch up with some paperwork and review photos from the past several days. Bill also took the chance to dive straight back into his project work, finally calling it a night around midnight.

Tuesday and Wednesday followed a similar pattern, with Bill up early and working on his projects – though he did take a break on Tuesday to watch the Champions League live football on TV between Wolfsburg and Manchester United, with Man U winning 3-1 thanks to an Owen hat trick. Thursday, however, saw a break with Bill doing a 25 minute phone interview with Gunter Jacobs for the Gazette van Antwerpen. In the afternoon, Bill worked through his Christmas card list and started the lengthy task of writing all the cards, carrying on well into the evening.

Friday, December 11 was practically given over the Christmas card writing, with both cards and Christmas e-cards written and sent – again, with Bill writing well into the evening.

With several days of catch-up, admin and rest under his belt, Bill headed off to Gedding on Saturday, with Suzanne and the girls heading to Heathrow to fly to Los Angeles for ten days. Bill used the time when arriving at Gedding to catch up on paper work, put in a call to Beverley Skeete for a chat, and also ensured that Suzanne and the girls had touched down safely in LA.

Sunday, December 13, was given over to projects, with Bill kicking off the day clearing the entrance hall to Gedding, and also his work area in the library. Once done, Bill took a call from Gary Brooker who asked if he could crash at Bill’s on Monday night, to which Bill agreed. With lunch done and football watched, Bill worked on photos from 1980 in the afternoon and rounded off the evening with another marathon round of Christmas card writing.
