Tuesday 22nd December 2009
With last night's performance in Harrogate a success, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings hit the road again on Wednesday, November 25, heading through a dull, rainy day to Manchester. Just after seven, Bill arrived at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester to be greeted by a posse of fans keen for autographs and photos. Bill was also given what he called a 'wonderful gift' of a rare Rupert annual and some smaller Rupert books by a local woman.

As befitting the Bridgewater Hall, the large crowd provided a warm welcome to Bill and the band as they took to the stage. The set went tremendously, although Bill spotted a man in the audience attempting to film the concert, which meant that Bill had to tell the man to stop – which the audience applauded. The second set also went great and the crowd loved it, paving the way for several encores including Crying In The Rain sung by Beverley and Albert, I Put A Spell On You sung by Beverley, and finally Gary rounding off the evening on a high note with New Orleans.

Backstage, and Bill caught up with Harry Goodwin – the photographer from Top Of The Pops – before heading out to sign autographs for fans and pose for photos.

The music might have been hot, but the weather wasn't – rain greeted Bill on Thursday as the band travelled to Colston Hall in Bristol. Again, the sold-out crowd were fantastic, providing a fantastic reception for both sets and the encores.

Finally, on Friday, Bill and the Rhythm Kings were back on the bus heading to Barnstaple – though with no concert planned for the evening, it gave Bill a chance to relax. In the evening, the band headed out to a local bar for a reasonable meal and – more importantly – some good laughs and great conversation.
