Bill’s fans know that Bill is a keen photographer – and you can see some of Bill’s photographic work and exhibition information on this site. On Friday, Bill took delivery for his new Nikon Coolpix P90 digital camera, spending the morning gleaning information from its included booklet, and taking test shots around the house.

Bill says he went out onto the grounds in Gedding, disturbing a hare under a tree, which he managed to get a photo of. With rain setting in for the afternoon, Bill headed inside to work on his projects.

Sunday was clearer, however, and Bill went back out for more photos, before going back inside to catch the live Premiership football between Manchester United and Arsenal, which ended on a two-one win for United – though Bill says it was a fortunate win.

Sunday was given over the admin, with Bill working solidly through the day working through the multitude of CDs and DVDs he’d carted down from London to check and store at Gedding. A short break for some more nature photography in the afternoon was followed by Bill watching the movie Just Cause - starring Sean Connery - which Bill says he liked.

After spending the next morning on the last day in August working on his nature photography, Bill went out to the woods with Mike to take photos. Bill says the site was slightly eerie – utterly silent, with no bird calls. Bill says he only saw a few species of butterfly, mostly Speckled Wood and Small White butterflies, along with the rare sighting of a Small Tortoiseshell or a Comma butterfly, but these were few and far between.

Following the silence, Bill headed across the fields to Bill’s three-acre paddock called Coronation Meadow, where Bill discovered lots of butterflies and day-flying moths – providing a rich source of photos, including the one pictured above right. Back to Gedding Hall, and Bill downloaded his photos, and watch some more live football, before returning to work on is photo database until deep into the night.
