A big day for Bill and the Rhythm Kings. The group had been rehearsing all week, along with famous musical names such as Lulu, Beverley Knight, Robin Gibb amd Melanie C, for a charity concert to be held today in London.

Bill was up early and headed straight to the venue, and the band ran through several numbers – with Bill performing his sound check and rehearsing two songs. Bill says the sound was great, and the final rehearsal went well. Bill also did numerous photo shoots with the band members – you can check out our comprehensive galleries of the day by clicking here.

Bill took a break to do a quick media piece for the ITV News, along with Mark King, before heading home to get changed for the evening. Then, it was a short taxi ride to the venue, with Bill relaxing backstage before Bill went out and sat at a table.

The Sunseeker Charity Gala show kicked off in earnest a touch before 11:30 at the Battersea Evolution Centre in London, with the Rhythm Kings performing as the house band, along with additional performers. The evening's line-up included Georgie Fame (organ/vocals), Graham Broad (drums/bvs), Albert Lee (guitar/bvs), Terry Taylor (guitar/bvs), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Geraint Watkins (piano/bvs), Dave Bronze (bass), Frank Mead (horns), Nick Payn (horns), Matt Winch (horns), Beverley Skeete (Vocals/bvs), Gina Foster (bvs), and Peter Howarth (bvs).

Bill was listed as one of the special guests on both bass and vocals.

With the set underway, the band launched into New York Mining Disaster 1941 (Robin Gibb), Words (Georgie Fame), and Emotion (Melanie C). With the audience jumping, the set continued with How Can You Mend A Broken Heart (Valeriya), If I Can't Have You (Natasha Hamilton/Robin Gibb), Nights On Broadway (Beverley Skeete), Too Much Heaven (Beverley Knight), Guilty (Beverley Knight/Robin Gibb), and Chain Reaction sang by Robin Gibb and the winners of a special competition.

Bill then launched into Honky Tonk Women, followed by You Never Can Tell, and then it was onto Bee Gees favourites Stayin' Alive (Valeriya/Robin Gibb), Jive Talkin' (Mark King), Massachusette (Lulu), To Love Somebody (Lulu), Islands In The Stream (Lulu/Robin Gibb), Night Fever (Robin Gibb), Tragedy (Robin Gibb), You Win Again (Robin Gibb).

A fantastic finale of How Deep Is Your Love, performed by all the artists, proved a spectacular end to the evening.
