Wednesday 14th January 2009
The Christmas and New Year are traditionally a time for family and friends, and for Bill that’s no exception. The Christmas period was a chance for Bill to relax nd catch-up with friends – including a former RAF mate who Bill had a good chat with. Bill also celebrated New Year’s eve back in London following the break in Gedding with a meal out with the family at the Ivy Restaurant.
With the dawn of 2009 breaking, Bill headed back to Gedding, stopping to chat to a few fans at the Harrow Mill on January 1. The next few days were spent either relaxing or working on projects – with snow interrupting play on Monday, January 5.
Bill got up early – around 5am – to discover an inch of snow covering the ground and the moat completely frozen over. But snow was far from Bill’s mind as he drove back to London ready for the afternoon’s rehearsal for the Rhythm King’s extended band for the Battersea concert on January 9 – although Bill wasn’t needed as he’d got Dave Bronze to fill in on bass.
Instead, Bill had lunch at Sticky Fingers, signed autographs and had photos taken by fans.
On Tuesday, January 6, Bill sent through his blog notes and photos, then did some media work for a Dutch media outlet promoting the up-coming tour in Holland. Bill also chatted through ensuring that photos of the Rhythm Kings in rehearsal were taken for the web site.
