Sunday 4th January 2009
Christmas may be coming in the Wyman household, but that only means that Bill is somehow busier than Santa with half his elves off sick. On Thursday, December 18, Bill was up early and selecting then sending high-resolution images to Bill's friend Richard Havers of the tour Bill did in Norway in 2007 to have printed up for the up-coming Dutch exhibition.
Bill also, finally, managed to get the last bunch of his exhaustive Christmas card list ticked off.
In the evening, Bill went out to eat and met up with actor Charlie Borman and his wife Olivia.
The next few days saw Bill back working on his projects, although Charlie Watts popped in on Friday to deliver Bill's Christmas present and a quick catch-up. Bill did get some time to watch the movie Beowulf with his daughter Katie - and Bill says that the story of Beowulf has always fascinated him - so much so that he has picked up various editions of the book over the years.
After working solidly in the run-up to Christmas, Bill and Suzanne travelled to Gedding on Monday, December 22, with Suzanne's parents also there for dinner. The next day, drummer Paul Francis and his wife Goldie visited Bill to drop of presents, and ended up staying for a few hours chatting, then heading of to visit Bill's son Stephen.
Christmas day, and the usual family festivies ensued, with everyone opening presents - Bill says he got a fantastic 1,000 BC bronze decorated shield boss from Charlie Watts.
Bill was also sad to note that both Eartha Kitt and the playwright Harold Pinter both died.
Boxing day was spent in a similar way, with Bill taking time to walk around the grounds and take photos - including one that he almost captured of a Montjac deer, but it was too swift for Bill to get a photo.
