The few days leading up toe Bill's birthday were quiet, with Bill heading back out to Gedding on Sunday, October 19 and spending time working on his projects and relaxing with his family. It's also a chance for Bill to relax himself, as he has been continuing to give up the fags!

By the time Friday rolled around, Bill had managed to take in some of the Gedding air - as well as sneak in the odd game of football on the TV - so Bill got up relaxed.

Bill celebrated his 72nd birthday with his family, opening his presents and cards from Suzanne, and the girls had bought Bill a basket of items from the 1940s, which Bill loved. He also got loads of birthday calls, as well as a bouquet of flowers from Dave and Anoushka Stewart, and an orchid plant from the Stones, along with other gifts.

In the afternoon, Bill went walking over the fields to take some photos, then met up with his son Stephen and Serena for a birthday dinner.

And all that remains is for us to wish Bill a very happy birthday!
