Saturday 18th October 2008
Bill and Suzanne went to the Shogun Japanese Restaurant with David Zelouth and his wife in the evening on Monday, then on Tuesday, October 8, Bill headed out to Sticky Fingers with Caroline in the morning for a lengthy, one-hour interview for the BBC's Blues Britannia documentary. Bill also chatted to Andrew Acquier, who had been employed by Sticky Fingers to revalue Bill's Stones memorabilia there for insurance. Bill also chatted to fans eating there, and had photos taken.
In the afternoon, Bill worked on business issues, before Bill and Suzanne went by taxi to the Belvedere Restaurant in Holland Park to attend song writer Leslie and Evie Bricusse's 50th wedding anniversary (pictured, right).
Once there, Bill met with Leslie and Evie, as well as Michael Caine and Shakira, Roger Moore and Kristina, Michael Winner and Geraldine, Bryan Forbes and his wife Nanette Newman, Richard Attenborough and his wife, Michael Brandon, Jeremy Lloyd, Jeffery Archer, Joan Collins, Jackie Collins, David Frost and Carena, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gloria Hunneford, and many more.
Bill says the evening was lovely, with great food, wine and conversation.
The next morning, Bill was up just after 7am, and The Times newspaper had several articles that mentioned the Stones. The morning was spent with his agents going into detail the projects being worked on, and Bill then left feeling very optimistic about progress in the afternoon.
The rest of the afternoon was given over to sorting out his old VHS tape copies of his home movies from 1964 to the 1980s, and Bill started watching them and taking notes. Later in the evening, Mick Hucknell and Gabriella, as well as Cindy Lauper, popped round to attend Bill's birthday dinner - but were a week early, which they all had a good laugh about. Still, not to miss the opportunity, everyone went to dinner at the Frantoio italian restaurant at World's End.
Friday, October 10, saw Bill wrapped up in his home movie VHS tapes during the day, and also visit the doctor on Harley Street. In the evening, Bill went to Jerry Hall's house in Richmond to attend a dinner party for an artist friend of hers. Others included Peter Townshend and Rachel, Tim Rice, Jo Wood, David Bailey and others. Bill says he spent a lot of time chatting to David Bailey, and then got home just before midnight.
The weekend saw Bill work on up-coming projects, catch up on business paperwork, and watch the England football match on TV.
