Sunday 22nd June 2008
Monday, June 9, and the day gets off to a busy start. Today is Bill's wife Suzanne's birthday, which sees a flurry of flowers and presents delivered throughout the day. And, workmen have arrived to fix parts of the house damaged in a recent storm, with their scaffolding being erected around the back of the house.
In the morning, Bill caught up with David English about yesterday's cricket match, and talked about some up-coming games for later in the year, and later on Bill and Suzanne headed out for dinner at The Ivy to celebrate her birthday.
On Tuesday, a cooler day found Bill plugged into his iTunes music collection and working on his projects throughout the day. In the evening, though, Bill made an interesting discovery - a seagull chick had fallen down the chimney, probably disturbed by workmen working on the roof of Bill's house. Bill scooped it up, and with the girls made a shoebox nest, with Bill feeding it on mashed Weetabix and milk. Shoe, as named by the girls, is pictured right!
The next day, and Shoe has settled in, while Bill worked on projects throughout the day and had a few meetings to discuss some up-coming Rhythm Kings shows. In the afternoon, Bill did an interview at Sticky Fingers with sports journalist David Walsh for the Sunday Times. Bill discussed his love of cricket, his own cricket-playing history, and the Bunburys charity cricket team throughout the years. Bill also chatted to fans at the restaurant and posed for a few photos with diners. Shoe was improving throughout the day, thanks to a new diet of Dover Sole.
On Thursday, June 12, Bill held a meeting on the next stage for the web site - more news to come shortly - and chatted with Mick Jagger about a possible future project. The day ended with news that the workmen had spent the day being divebombed by angry seagulls, and a dull Euro 2008 game between Austria and Poland.
On Friday, Bill headed off to Gedding, taking Shoe the seagull chick with him...
