Sunday 22nd August 2010
After a relaxing couple of days at Gedding spending time with his photography, Bill had driven back to London on July 22, before driving back the same day and continuing his break. On Friday, July 23, Bill got up and checked emails, listened to music on iTunes, and also spent a relaxing hour rambling the grounds of Gedding and taking photos. The weekend followed a similar pattern, with Bill clocking up some significant photography time – and also watching the film Sherlock, which he thought was a good movie.
Monday, and back to business for Bill. Terry called mid-morning to chat over the Rhythm Kings Live Dorking CD mixes, masters and running order, which Bill says is all now completed. The next few days were also given over to emails and catching up with business people, though Bill did squeeze in some photography, taking a few photos with his fisheye lens, as well as picking wild fruit. By Tuesday, and with the number of nature photos growing significantly, Bill called up his son Stephen to help set up a database for Bill’s photos, helping Bill get all his shots organized. In the evening, Bill also caught up with his family, chatting to Jessie who is in college camp in Vermont along with Katie.

Wednesday, July 28, and Bill heads back to London – taking Matilda’s new puppy with him in the car. Once back, Bill was straight into working through business updates, emailing friends and business people, and downloading the photos from Gedding. Afterward, Bill, Suzanne and Matilda headed out for dinner, before calling it a day.
Photography was the order of the day on Thursday, July 29. Bill spent much of the day working through his nature database, then headed out camera equipment shopping on Kings Road. Bill picked up a new Nikon D90 digital camera and 400mm lens for long distance photography. Added to the shopping list was a Sigma 300mm lens for Bill’s Nikon D40X digital camera, plus a photo bag and a bunch of accessories. Bill also took time to go over the running order for the live recordings of the Rhythm Kings at Dorking in 2009, then switched his attention back to his nature database. Later, Bill, Suzanne and Matilda went to La Brasserie for dinner, before enjoying a long stroll back home.

Friday saw Bill continue to work through his nature database, as well as keeping an eye on the second day of the cricket Test Match on TV between England and Pakistan, with England still dominant. Needing a break, Bill headed to the Chelsea Physic Gardens after lunch, but he couldn’t track down any butterflies, so limited his photos to flowers. By Saturday, Bill was done with the database so far, and began packing for travelling back to Gedding; Suzanne and Matilda were also packing for their trip to New York for a few days. Bill says the traffic was heavy to Gedding – chalking up the longest time the journey has taken him – but the good news when he arrived was a call from Suzanne to say both her and Matilda had also arrived safely.
